Santa Margarita Catholic High School held a mock drunk driving drill that simulated a fatal car crash after the night of prom. This can happen to anyone and happens EVERY 15 MINUTES.
Please take the time and watch this with your kids. Not only should they not be drinking and driving, but they should not be texting, messing with the stereo or their phones and please have them wear their seat belts.
Ryan (the volunteer drunk driver) is JJ’s boyfriend. She is my daughter and Repeat Possessions‘ model. This was a very difficult re-enactment for all the kids. We thank the OC Sheriffs department and the group F.A.D.D., Friends Against Drinking And Driving. Many are familiar with MADD, Mothers Against Drunk Driving. All have the same goal, to educate and prevent these tragic accidents.
These drills are usually done around prom time. Capistrano Valley High School had one the following week. Also, we attended the Aliso Viejo High School drill. Again, please share these videos with your kids. Stress the importance of not drinking and driving, no texting, street racing and always wear your seat belt.
Within 1 1/2 weeks of this being filmed, Ashton Sweet, a 14 year old cheerleader from Irvine, CA was coming home from a birthday party with her friends and one of their fathers. They were hit by Austin Farley, 26, a drunk driver with multiple offenses. Anger, ourtage and sadness invelop the community. All we can do is spread the word and ask that you take a little time to review with your drivers how critical this is to heed our advice.
