6 Songs to Add to Your Workout Playlist

Happy Fit Friday everyone! Music is the ultimate motivator (aside from a personal trainer yelling for more reps) when your working out. Whether you’re lifting weights in a gym or running at a local park, your playlist can make or break your workout! I polled some friends and added in a few submissions of my own of the perfect songs to workout to….throw on your Nikibiki Sport gear, grab your water bottle, and get pumped with these 6 songs to add to your workout playlist!

The Ultimate Cycling Song

This song makes me want to get out of my chair and cycling so hard I’m dripping sweat! It’s guaranteed to get your heart rate up and make you excited to absolutely destroy your workout.

The I’m a Bada$$ Song

My aunt recommended this song to me as a workout song, and every time I play it, I catch myself bobbing my whole body along with the music….and more intensly as the song goes on. Something about this song, the repetition of the word stronger just makes me want to put on a boxing robe, some gloves and make a serious grand entrance into the gym for a kickboxing class. Add this song to your workout playlist and it’s you’ll get that instant “I’m a bada$$” feeling!

The Iconic Song

There is quite possibly no song more likely to get you motivated more than the Rocky theme song! To me, this is the perfect song for the stair master….especially if you own it and complete the whole thing with a shadow boxing sequence when you reach the end of your circuit 😉

The Big Beat Song

I love a good remix with an intense beat and lots of bass drops and this Ellie Goulding – Lights remix by Bassnectar, gets me moving every time it comes on. When it comes on my Pandora in the car, I turn it up so loud that I feel like I should pull over on the side of the freeway and do a couple quick squats and burpees or something to justify the energy that immediately flows through my veins!

The Girl Power Song

On the days where the thoughts of the gym are too much to handle, put this song on your iPod and by the end of the 3 minutes and 26 seconds, you’ll be ready to own the gym! Use the words and the build up of the music as motivation to be the best you you can be, take back your life and your workout, and FIGHT!

The Slowed Down Song

While they lyrics of this song might not be as motivating as some of the others, this is one my favorite for slowly cooling down after an intense workout. I need something that’s on par with the stuff I’ve just gotten my heart rate up, but that will slowly bring be back down to a normal level. The strong beat of this song allows for some active stretching (because we all know static stretching is not so good for you) and an appropriate beats per minute to control your breathing.

Time to get out there and sweat! Add these songs to your playlist and share your favorite with us below in the comments or over on our Facebook page.
