Spring is practically here on the West Coast. With warmer weather, less layers to hide underneath, and an abundance of music festivals approaching, you may be thinking of getting your summer fitness routine in check. A nice way to ease yourself into a slimmed down physique without giving up delicious foods is by incorporating smoothies in your daily routine as a light meal replacement. Smoothies are great for a relatively quick breakfast, and will help you stay full for longer, depending on the ingredients you use. I’ve come up with my top 5 healthy smoothie recipes so you can slim down the yummy (and nutritious) way!

Feeling a little naughty with a sweet tooth craving? Than this healthy smoothie recipe is for you. I actually love using fresh strawberries with it as I feel like the chocolate/strawberry taste is a little more delectable than when frozen is used, but you can do it either way.
Ingredients:
½ frozen banana
¼ cup strawberries, fresh or frozen
¼ cup peaches, fresh or frozen
1 tbs raw pumpkin seeds
1 tbs dark chocolate
½ cup dark chocolate almond milk
½ cup cold water
1/8 teaspoon ginger
Directions:
Throw ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth. Sprinkle some chocolate shavings and a strawberry on top for garnish if you’re feeling fancy.
Kale Tropic Smoothie

You know I obviously had to add a typical Los Angeles kale smoothie, right? While I’m not a HUGE fan of Kale, this healthy smoothie recipe hides in it a way that I love. You can also sub kale for spinach for less of a kick.
Ingredients:
½ cup coconut milk
2 cups stemmed and chopped kale or spinach
1 ½ cups chopped pineapple
1 ripe banana, chopped
Directions:
Combine ingredients in a blender until smooth. If the consistency is thick, add a juice of your choice, or water for a thinner drink.
